tool box

When my father graduated from high school his father gave him a pair of gloves and this tool box. It was passed down to me when I started driving.

Really Solid Tennessee Excursion

I hopped in the Mercury and ran down to Atlanta to meet up with the other Atlanta Road Kings on Thursday. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Joe Smith on Friday night. I got to hear some great stories about the roots of Hot Rods from a man who was there when nobody made parts. The Atlanta Road Kings rolled out Saturday morning to visit Mike Goodman at Honest Charley in Chattanooga TN. We ended up with a closed shop tour of Coker and Honest Charley from Jamie, Mike and Corky Coker.

It was a very humbling experience. I can't say enough about the quality of character that I was around this weekend. All good people, all good times.

We ran up the road for some bbq and then it was back to VA for me.  1344 miles on an old stock Mercury Flathead, with only minor problems handled on the side of the road or the end of a driveway. (thanks Mike)
